Ergonomics
The
term “ergonomics” is derived from two Greek words: “ergon”,
meaning work and “nomoi”, meaning natural laws. Today, ergonomics
has developed into a science whose main purpose is to design workspaces
and tools that help people do their jobs and use their tools and other
products comfortably and safely. Requirements for healthy ergonomic design
have long since evolved into laws defining the medical and therapeutic
requirement for all type of work environments and equipment. Unfourtunately,
These laws often go unenforced. LOP takes ergonomics seriously. Taking
a closer look at some important aspects of modern ergonomics for digital
workplaces we note:
-
Maintaining an ergonomically healthy distance from the eyes to the monitor
- Ensuring proper eye levels to the monitor
- Providing
variable and user-adjustable seat positioning
- Sound-proofing of the Computer
- Use of height and back-angle adjustable office chairs
(LOP highly recommends office chairs from Grammer, Germany. Amongst other,
Grammer produces customized car seats for General Motors, BMW and for
German Rails "Metropolitain" firstclass intercity trains).
Along with these standard features,
